2012 PEA Winners Announced

The Printing Week Celebrations have come to a close but not without some outstanding printing and loads of fun! We congratulate all the Print Excellence Awards Winners and look forward to the Best of Category, Judges, Rising Star and Best of Show Awards to be presented at the Grand Ceremony on August 6, 2012. The Grand Ceremony will be held in conjunction with the Leadership & Management Conference and The Ohio State Fair.

The 2012 Best of Region Awards were presented to:

In the division of 20 or fewer employees the awards were presented to:

Master Printing	Northern Region

In the division of 21–50 employees the awards were presented to:

API	Southern Region
PXPOHIO	Central Region
The Herald, Inc.	Northern Region

In the division of 51-100 employees the awards were presented to:

Hopkins Printing	Central Region
AGS Custom Graphics	Northern Region

In the division of 101 or more Employees the awards were presented to:

The Hennegan Company	Southern Region
West-Camp Press	Central Region
Great Lakes Integrated	Northern Region

The People's Choice award is the only honor not awarded by our out-of-state judges, but by industry peers. It is voted on at the Printing Week Banquets in each region out of all the Gold Award winning entries.

The regional People's Choice Awards were presented to:

The Hennegan Company	Southern Region
Fine Line Graphics	Central Region
United Finishing & Die Cutting	Northern Region

Each region also recognized industry leaders at their respective Banquet events.

Southern Region
Gerry Macdonald of The Hennegan Company received the 2012 Printer of the Year Award. Gerry has been a long-time supporter of industry activities and made many contributions to the success and recognition of our industry.  The award was presented by the Southern Region Printing Week Council.  In addition, Think Patented was awarded the Maxwell Award for its leadership, and progressive growth and involvement in the industry and the community.  The awards were presented at the Southern Region Banquet, held on Jan. 28th.

Central Region
Congratulations to David G. Pilcher with Freeport Press for receiving the highest recognition made by central Ohio's graphic arts community! David was presented with the Franklinton Award on Feb. 2nd at The Printing Industries of Ohio • N.Kentucky's Central Printing Week Banquet.

This award honors Benjamin Franklin, the patron saint of the printing industry, who dedicated his life to the betterment of his community and country. The Franklinton Award is given to individuals who have made outstanding public contributions to the central Ohio community and to the Graphic Arts Industry.

Northern Region
Among the highlights of Northern region's Ben's Bash, held Feb. 9th was the announcement of the Hall of Distinction honorees. The Hall of Distinction has been in existence since 1978 and the list of Hall members is really the Who’s Who of northeast Ohio printing professionals. Congratulations to Pat Bush of Bush Integrated and Rich Amendola of Braden Sutphin Ink for being inducted into the Hall this year.
