Print Week 2020 - Southern Region's William Maxwell Award Recipient

Our Print Week traditions not only include celebrating our Print Excellence Award winners, but we honor individuals and companies who have greatly impacted the industry. Since 1963 our Southern Region has recognized an individual in the print community, as well as a prominent company, for their outstanding contributions.

The Maxwell Award is given to a company who demonstrates forward thinking, is a market leader, and is recognizable for its contributions to both the industry and local community. Our 2020 award winner, JBM Packaging exhibits all of these traits. JBM is a family business and Marcus Sheanshang is the second-generation owner. He is especially proud of transitioning the business from his father 10 years ago, and evolving the company to a team-focused organization dedicated to innovation and growth in new markets.

Marcus learned about Fair Chance programs and the opportunities they provide to incarcerated offenders through his church. After engaging with the church’s Prison Ministry Outreach and spending time with a few of the incarcerated individuals, JBM initiated their Fair Chance Program three years ago and brought on team members with difficult backgrounds. Their goal was to expand employment opportunities to more individuals and successfully reintegrate them into society. This program is a key part of JBM’s Purpose of Better Solutions. Better Lives. Better World. Fair Chance team members comprise 13% of their employees. To take it further, JBM is starting a non-profit organization in the coming year. They are taking on ministry work in prisons to positively impact a greater number of individuals and get them back on their feet

Join us in celebrating JBM Packaging's accomplishments at the 58th Annual Southern Region Banquet on January 23rd at 6:00 pm.
