2019 Leadership Conference Recap

Our 2019 Leadership Conference was a great success! Thank you again to all of our sponsors, partners, speakers, staff and of course, all of the participants who attended this year. Photos will be uploaded on social media soon.

We kicked off the conference on Sunday with Adriane Harrison discussing drugs in the workplace, the aging workforce, and recruiting.

Our Millennial panel dove into the thoughts of Jennifer Jackson, Sam Nutis, and Alli Redinger and their perspectives on the industry and what companies can do to attract Millennials.

Casino Night was a big hit. Everyone enjoyed watching some football, playing corn hole, and “winning” millions of dollars at the casino tables. Our big prize winners for the evening were Alli Redinger, Britt Prescott and Tara Halpin.

Monday morning started off on the right foot with Deborah Corn bringing her engaging personality to Columbus and reminding attendees that the print buyer is changing and an online social presence is mandatory for success.

Andy Paparozzi gave us the update on the State of the Industry in his first session. He discussed what is changing in the industry and what the changes mean. He also talked about making the case for print as a complement to, not a substitute for, electronic communication.

Trish Witkowski showed us her best practices for creating print pieces that are unique and will wow your customers. She also explained how to create mail pieces that are creative and engaging for your clients.

Lisbeth Lyons presented what legislative initiatives Printing Industries of America is advocating for in Washington, D.C., and potential policies to keep an eye on. She explained what you can do to advocate on behalf of the industry.

Jay Foster dove into the Industrial Internet of Things and what print companies can do to prepare for and tackle the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Andy Paparozzi closed out our education sessions by returning to explain in detail how we can make opportunity out of what is ahead in the industry. By building an employer brand and creating a superior customer experience, companies can stand out from the competition and excel.

During the Grand Ceremony, attendees enjoyed viewing the winning Best of Category print pieces and voting on the best for the People’s Choice Award. Members also got a chance to mingle with Youngstown State University President and former Ohio State University football coach, Jim Tressel. President Tressel was our speaker during the ceremony, and his discussion on increasing excellence and selflessness was poignant and well spoken. After his speech, we presented the awards for the Print Excellence Contest: Best of Category, Best of Show, Judge's Awards and the People’s Choice Award.
