May Regional Advisory Council Meetings - Speaker Update
One of the most relevant, and scary topics facing us today is cyber security. Now more than ever there is potential liability that exposes clients when a breach happens. 2019 has already had 4.53 billion cyber security breaches, which brings it to more than 2018 had the full year. This trend does not seem to be changing. IT security and meeting compliance standards are becoming focal points for many organizations. Keeping your personal, professional, and client's information safe is one of the most important tasks to ensure security.
Recently, a fraudulent email account was sending out malware from an email mimicking well-known payroll processor, Paychex. Paychex sent out an advisory last week that a fraudulent paychex.email was sending out Trickbot Malware. Fortunately, Paychex accounts are secure and not compromised.
