The Printing Industries of Ohio • N.Kentucky Printers’ Day at the Fair and the Leadership and Management Conference should be on YOUR calendar! The conference is set for August 4, 5, and 6 at Quest Business Centers in Columbus. Not only will we have some fantastic presenters from the Printing Industries of America, like Michael Makin, PIA President and Dr. Mark Bohan, Vice President for Technology and Research, we’ll welcome some great industry professionals as well. Other great presenters will include be Alexandra Gebhardt, Inside Media Networks, to discuss Social Media topics, and Leslie Groene, Groene Consulting, a well-respected sales consultant, as well as John Conley, from Xerox, and Patrick Morrissey from EFI.
Leslie Groene is one of the coaching superstars in the world of corporate sales as well as a business consultant, author and motivational speaker. Her sales seminars are continually sold out and have produced impressive results in a variety of corporate settings. She helps her clients focus on revenue generation and profit growth. She authored the business strategy book “Picture Yourself & the Life You Want” and is a nationally renowned motivational speaker. She became a sales associate with Zellerbach Paper in Los Angeles after graduating from college. After five productive years, she joined Penn Litho in a similar capacity. Next, she joined George Rice & Sons and became one of the company’s leading producers. In 1995, Groene made the transition to sales management at Direct Color and in two short years, sales increased 50 percent.
In 1997, Ms. Groene established Groene Consulting and has consulting engagements with leading Fortune 500 companies such as Anderson/LA (a CGX Company), KPMG, Cenveo, Deloitte Consulting, Ricoh-USA, NewPage, Guest Supply (a SYSCO company), Mohawk Paper, Coldwell Banker, Discovery Science Center and other major companies across the country in many different industries.

Alexandra Gebhardt is Chief Content Strategist for Inside Media Networks, her digital content marketing firm, and a Digital Strategist at Human 1.0, a research based management consulting network. In her roles, Alex has delivered over 8 years of tactical hands-on experience promoting brand content on emerging social and mobile platforms. She helps startups and Fortune 500 firms develop their content strategy and build online communities. An evangelist and active member of the tech community, Alexandra is considered an early adopter and expert in social media, content marketing, web 2.0/3.0+, blog development, SEO, email marketing, podcasting, monetization, and online content distribution. She is also Executive Producer for a range of broadcast and online programming.
For almost two decades, she has been on the front lines leading change at some of the imaging industries key companies including Agfa and Pantone. Alexandra's work with various technology and media start-ups has allowed her to hone skills that harness the power of new technologies and apply them to existing business plans and infrastructures. On August 4th, before the conference begins, you’re invited to join your printing industry colleagues and their families for a FREE day at the Ohio State Fair with friends, family and colleagues! All printing industry employees (members and non-members) receive free admission this day! Family members get into the fair for only $2.00 each. Stop by our booth in the Marketplace.
A free picnic lunch will be provided from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at the Cardinal shelterhouse.
The conference begins on Sunday evening, with a special reception for new and renewing Printing Industries Education Funds, (PIEF) scholarship recipients. We will host a special recognition for our PIEF Scholars.
Following that, you’ll need to get your poker faces on as we celebrate with our friends and colleagues at Casino Night. Games will include Texas Hold ‘em, Blackjack, Roulette, Craps and slot machines. Refreshments and heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served throughout the evening.
This full-day Tournament brings printers, vendors, paper merchants and suppliers together to enjoy a beautiful day of golf, contests, prizes, a buffet lunch and awards. There will be prize holes and a chance to win $10,000 in our hole-in-one competition. This fun-filled industry event is the perfect opportunity to meet new business contacts, or to treat your customers and employees to a fantastic day on the links.
